Welcome

François Mercier was admitted to practise as a Barrister-at-Law of the Supreme Court of Queensland on 9 September 2002, and of the High Court of Australia on 24 October 2002, commencing his practice at the private Bar at the age of 24 years, and from which time practising in the areas of Personal Injury Law, Commercial Law, Criminal Law and Family Law, gaining extensive experience in advising and appearing for clients and conducting mediations.

In 2002, François graduated with a Bachelor of Laws with Honours and a Bachelor of Science (majoring in Anatomy and Neurobiology) from the University of Queensland. In 2004, he graduated with a Master of Laws (Litigation & Dispute Resolution), specialising in mediation and conciliation, from the University of Queensland, thereafter becoming accredited as a mediator, as well as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner pursuant to the Family Law Act 1975 (Cth).

Outside of his legal practice, François trains in karate, and enjoys convening amateur chess tournaments, as well as translating French classic literature into English.
